J.H. Stewart's Grocery

Scene depicts my Granddad’s store at the mouth of Beefhide at Myra, KY in the early 60's around Christmas … on a week night in early December around 7 p.m.

We had  finished hanging the Christmas lights on the store  when it began to snow. Finished, we walked toward home but not before pausing for a quick glance over our shoulders at what the lights looked like at a distance. The scene was illuminated by the lit grocery  billboard sign making everything seem to  glow in the heavy darkness of the snowy cold night air. Christmas was now official for us and as we watched the snow accumulating we smiled in delight… probably no school tomorrow and it would definitely be another white Christmas.
